SPALDINGS, CLARENDON:
Minister Ann-Marie Lambert has been a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Jamaica for over 17 years.
Born in Manchester, Lambert currently resides in St. Elizabeth. She has served in various capacities in the church, including evangelist, Sunday School teacher, in public relations, as a member of the finance committee and youth director.
Apart from serving God and humanity in those areas, Minister Lambert also specialises in the singing ministry and has been successful in that area, while leading souls to Christ.
For her, ministry came naturally. She said the leaders in her church saw that God had a purpose for her life and recommend ed her to be a minister. Her recommendation was followed up with ordination, giving her the right as any other minister of the Gospel to execute church duties.
blesses hearts
Lambert's ministry has not only taken her across Jamaica, but it has also taken her to other Islands, including The Cayman Islands and The Bahamas, as she blesses hearts with speeches and songs.
Lambert acknowledged that she is willing to go as far as God will take her, and so she does not intend to take any break from the duties assigned to her by the Lord.
"Singing is a part of my life and I would give up just about anything for singing. I am at school now but it does not deter me. Anything which has to do with the work of the Lord for me is just worth doing. I am not one of those persons who believes that because I am studying, the work of the Lord has to be put on hold," said Minister Lambert.
Lambert noted that she believes that if she does not carry out God's work she could not function in any other area, and so it is best to do the work of Him who has sent her. She wants women who minister in the church, and who at times are faced with challenges associated with their duties, to put God first in their doings.
"One of my philosophies is that. He is either in first place or no place. God does not settle for second best. I believe that if we prioritise our lives, making God first, making Him centre, then everything else that is to come will come and will fall in place."
She continued: "One of our challenges is that we have put the things of God on hold in order to pursue our own dreams and our desires, and until we are finished with them, then we pick up on what God wants us to do. But I believe that in all of our lives, God has a purpose and a will for all of us, and it does not matter what, His purpose should be done."
The young minister's work has so far resulted in her compiling an album which comprises 10 tracks. It is entitled, He's Coming Again. She is currently working on compiling yet another, as the inspiration of God continues to work in her life while she ministers.
